About Us

Welcome

This past year has been our most fulfilling yet! With excitement and anticipation, we launched our new web site. Many new clients came to us and many old friends returned. We are truly grateful to all of you, our wonderful “active vacationers”. Our tours are as diverse as all of you. Energized by cycling back roads and country byways, you not only explore, but also immerse yourselves in the rich and varied history of each locale. You are barge bikers on board historic boats, open sea farers on impressive schooners, self guided cyclists following maps that lead to ancient ruins or soaring cathedrals, and road cyclists rewarded by each mountain top view. Some of you, like some of us, are not as fast as you used to be but will not give up the wonder of cycling through histories and cultures not your own. For you we have the electric bike option on more and more of our tours so that you can continue to cycle as long as you like.

We love cycling as much as you do and we enjoy offering these vacations to all of you. As you go off, we wait to hear stories and see photos and in this world of emails, Facebook, Smartphones, and Skype, we have enjoyed getting to know each and every one! As we enter our 13th year, we hope we make many new friends and reconnect with old. We continue to review offerings, listento feedback and expand or makechanges where changes are warranted. So here’s to many more cycling adventures on rivers, land and sea. We look forward to hearing from all of you.

For those of you who do not know us yet, we are the van den Hengels, proprietors of this small, family owned business created out of our own  passion for cycling. Being originally from the Netherlands, we have had the pleasure of experiencing much of Europe over the years, be it via bicycle, boat or train. The innumerable scenic bike routes that have been popular in Europe for decades are a great way to integrate oneself into Europe's many cultures!

We continue to expand each year to meet the wishes and needs of you, our clients; and we are continuously working to increase our expertise in the business. We have become an Austrian Certified Travel Specialist, an Irish Travel Specialist, a Holland Travel Professional as well as a Switzerland Network Certified Specialist and of course, a member of the League of American Bicyclists. We also have a working relationship with Icelandair, so that we are able to offer airfare (optional) with many of our tours for your convenience.

Please ask us about the addition of brand new 5 day Tulip Tours aboard the very lovely Magnifique. We also are excited to now offer true sailing experiences during Tulip Season!

If you desire a unique and exotic vacation, be sure to visit our new tour in Viet Nam and be ready for the adventure of a lifetime!

So here’s to many more cycling adventures on rivers, land and sea. We look forward to hearing from all of you!
