This an easy-to-moderate self-guided hotel tour that offers a comfortably paced cycling experience, with daily distances ranging from 22 to 40 miles. The route covers diverse terrains including uphill sections. Your route includes well-marked and paved cycle routes along the Isar River, Lake Constance, King’s Sea, and the Bavarica Tyrolensis bike path. You also ride peaceful side roads, brief stretches on main roads, and sections of partially unpaved roads.
Airport Info
Fly to Munich International Airport (MUC) located 28 km northeast of Munich, near the city of Freising.
Local Travel
The S1 and S8 S-Bahn lines connect the airport to the Munich city center at 10-minute intervals. The S1 travels via the west of the city and the S8 via the east. The trip to the main railway station at the city center (Hauptbahnhof München) takes approx. 35 minutes. You can take a taxi from Central Station to your first hotel or public transportation.
Climate
The Bavaria region lies in the continental climate zone with distinct seasons. Between May and September, skies are mostly sunny and temperatures are pleasantly warm. Please check local conditions before arrival.
