This guided or self-guided walking tour in southwest England will lead you through the stunning Cotswold countryside. Through fields and over rolling hills, your trails lead to honey-colored Cotswold villages and bustling market towns.
The Cotswold Hills region is perfect walking country. The winding lanes and national footpaths will transport you back to the pre-industrial England when sheep and dry-stone walling were the biggest industries.
Depending on your itinerary, Global heritage sites, the university city of Oxford, Churchill’s Blenheim Palace, the Neolithic wonder of Stonehenge, and the spa town of Bath are highlighted.

At 10 am, your guides will meet you at platform 1 (below the clock) of London Paddington railway station. From there, you will be taken by minibus directly to the outskirts of Oxford, where you will embark on a walk along the River Thames and make your way into the heart of one of the world's most beautiful university cities. During your visit, you will enjoy a tour of the University and have lunch in this lively city. You will take a train from Moreton in Marsh to Blenheim Palace, a UNESCO World Heritage Site and the birthplace of Winston Churchill. Before entering the palace grounds, you will visit the nearby village of Bladon to pay your respects at Churchill's grave. Once inside the palace grounds, you will be amazed by the stunning gardens designed by Capability Brown, including the formal Italian Gardens and the Rose Garden. You will also have the opportunity to tour the palace itself and learn more about the history of the Churchill family. After lunch, you will walk to the Column of Victory, which was built to commemorate the Battle of Blenheim and the defeat of the French. When you travel from Moreton in Marsh, your first stop will be in Bampton, a village that Downton Abbey fans will recognize as the outdoor filming location for the popular TV series. From there, you will continue your journey towards the breathtaking White Horse Hill, where you can witness the beautiful ancient carving atop the Ridgeway. Another notable attraction in the area is Wayland Smithy, a well-preserved Neolithic burial chamber that is steeped in history and legend. After your exploration, you will head to the charming White Horse pub in Woolstone for a delicious lunch. The next stop on your itinerary is the world-famous Stonehenge, where you can marvel at the iconic stone circle and immerse yourself in the history and mystery of this ancient site. Your tour guides will greet you at the Moreton-in-Marsh Station. After a swift lunch at your hotel, you'll begin your introduction to the Cotswolds with a leisurely walk from the charming town of Chipping Campden to the stunning Hidcote Gardens. These gardens were inspired by American designs and feature a series of outdoor "rooms" that are sure to take your breath away. You'll continue your walk to the Ebrington Arms, a pub recently recognized as the best in England by the Sunday Times, before returning to Moreton-in-Marsh for your first group dinner together.Sample accommodation:

Next, you'll depart again from Chipping Campden and join the Cotswolds Way, a 102-mile-long route extending all the way to Bath. Your journey will take you past Dovers Hill, where the quirky Cotswold Olympiks take place, and towards Broadway Tower. From the top of the tower, you can take in panoramic views of 16 English and Welsh counties with the landscape spread out like a beautiful patchwork quilt before your eyes. Following lunch at Broadway Tower, you'll make your way down to Broadway, also known as the Jewel of the Cotswolds, where you can indulge in some delicious afternoon tea at the Broadway Deli and explore the stunning high street shops. Visit the amazing topiary at Broad Campden before walking into Chipping Campden, one of the signature market towns of the Cotswolds. Skill Level — Easy–Moderate
This tour is rated easy to moderate and is appropriate for guests going for a good walk that can handle an incline or two. The terrain covered is varied including rolling hills and a few steeper walks which will be a bit more demanding. If you choose the guided tour, your holiday will be tailored by your guide to suit your individual preferences. Rewarding views are guaranteed. Either version, guided or self-guided, features daily distances ranging from 4-10 miles, and options for shorter or longer walks are available on most days. Please note that for the guided version, with groups of less than eight people, the guide will be the support vehicle driver. For groups eight and larger, one guide will serve as a support vehicle driver and the other will participate in activities with the group.

Local Travel
On the guided Oxford and Bath itinerary, you will be met at London Paddington Railway Station and transferred to Oxford to begin you walking holiday. Because of the early transfer time, it is advised that you arrive before your tour start and arrange for accommodations in London. For the villages and towns guided itinerary and the self-guided tour, you travel by train from London to Moreton in Marsh where you will met by a guide (for the guided tour) or a tour representative for an introductory meeting (self - guided).

The climate in this region is a temperate maritime climate with warm summers. The best time to visit is June, July, and August.
