| Description: |
France, Germany, & a touch of Luxembourg! Enjoy a week holiday while you sail and bike along the Moselle River, one famous for it's beautiful landscapes and tasty wines.
The tour begins in Metz, France, at the confluence of the Moselle & Seine Rivers. Here you can enjoy the lively city center, strategically placed between the Moselle and the Lorraine Plateau. The city has miles of landscaped sidewalks along the rivers and canals, where you may enjoy a stroll. Further on, you will make your way to Thionville, where you may admire many 17th century fortifications. You bike to Remich, Luxembourg, famous as a wine producing town. Remich is quite picturesque and for that is often visited by tourists. Biking to Trier will be a highlight of the tour. The city is located right on the Moselle, with it's most magnificent portion on the east bank. Across the River you will see the vineyard-covered slopes stretch up to the Hunsrück plateaux. In Traben Trarbach you can enjoy a tasting of the famous Moselle-Riesling wines. You may appreciate a stop at Bernkastel-Kues, where beautiful framework houses line the marketplace. A visit to the Castle Eltz, sitting romantically on a cliff, is a must! This is truly a wonder as it has never been destroyed in it's long history. Finally we end in Koblenz, famous for it's beautiful Ehrenbreitstein Fortress.
